GIF 2000: Gatan Imaging Filter

An ever increasing number of industrial and academic institutions require the analysis of highly structured materials at the nanometer level using the latest in TEM technology. The GIF 2000 adds energy-loss spectroscopy and imaging capabilities to a TEM that will dramatically change the way researchers look at their samples.

Key Features of the GIF 2000 Hardware include:

Advanced electron optics using multipole lenses

1k or 2k MultiScan™ CCD camera with large pixel size and latest scintillator coupling technology

Second order aberration corrected energy dispersive prism

Third order image aberation correction

Compatible up to 400 keV and with HV TEMs

Fully digital computer contolled PC based system

The Gatan Imaging Filter comes with sophisticated software covering all aspects of energy-filtered imaging and energy-loss spectroscopy. A graphical user interface within DigitalMicrograph simplifies the acquisition and processing of filtered and unfiltered images, and powerful EELS software allows complex analysis of energy-loss spectra. Tight integration of the software with the microscope and simple expandability through additional Gatan plug-ins make it a safe investment for the future.

Key Features of the GIF 2000 Software include:

• Point and click operation for EFTEM and EELS

• Automated performance tuning for optimum reproducibility and minimum user interaction

• Tight integration with microscope software

• Automatic exposure optimization

• Rapid automated quantitative EELS analysis

• Spectrum Imaging
