Product Specialist/ Applications Engineer

The Product Specialists will provide materials engineering technical support for our products and our customers.

This includes:

• Identifying customer sample preparation product requirements / process needs and trends
• Working directly with customers to identify / develop new products and processes for enhanced value / improved quality, cost and reliability.
• Preparation of customer samples to demonstrate the competence of our sample preparation product line
• Training customers in the proper use of our sample preparation products
• Developing and reviewing engineering specifications and managing technical research and testing
• Conducting Alpha trials; preparing samples, collecting and analyzing data
• Providing work direction and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess a material science or metallurgical degree; advanced degree preferred with knowledge and familiarity with sample preparation tools for TEM / SEM and optical applications; related knowledge / experience with geological materials and familiarity with semiconductor materials highly desirable. Effective written and oral communication skills required. This position will be based at our Headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. 30 – 40% Travel is required in this role (domestic and international).
