The New World for In-situ Applications Workshop
In-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) combines the image formation capabilities of the TEM with the application of some external stimulus to measure results in real-time. Currently, a wide variety of systems and holders are available to apply different stimuli to evaluate kinetic reactions such as catalysis, phase transformations, other chemical reactions, electrical fields, mechanical strain or nanoindentation deformation, heating, cooling, or the effects of the electron beam irradiation damage in samples.
This full-day workshop will present and demonstrate innovative in-situ technologies and solutions for key material science applications. A team of FELMI-ZFE, Gatan and DENSsolutions scientists will present and demonstrate a fully integrated system of a high-performance TEM camera, heating module, and software that will reveal critical details in-situ in challenging samples. We will take full advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities and TEMs at the Austrian Centre for Electron Microscopy and Nanoanalysis, FELMI-ZFE.
