Northern California Society for Microscopy Fall 2018 Meeting

Gatan is hosting and sponsoring the Fall 2018 meeting of the Northern California Society for Microscopy (NCSM). Local scholars, students, and industry leaders will be gathering at Gatan's R&D Headquarters in Pleasanton, CA to present and discuss their research and current topics. The line-up of presentations include:

  • Agricultural applications of microscopy (De Wood, USDA)
  • Understanding the removal pathways of dislocations in imperfectly attached nanocrystals using in-situ HRTEM (Justin Ondry, UC Berkeley)
  • Utilizing graphene liquid cell TEM to elucidate the mechanisms of non-equilibrium etching of metallic nanocrystals (Matt Hauwiller, UC Berkeley)
  • Advanced EELS acquisition and analysis (Ray Twesten, Gatan)

The lunch-time presentations will be followed by open tours and demonstrations of Gatan's microscope and specimen preparation labs. This is an informal, open-forum gathering for members to discuss their work and catch up on their pursuits. If you are interested in attending, please contact info@ncsmicroscopy.org to register. Space is limited, and registration is required.
