NRAMM: A Workshop on Advanced Topics in EM Structure Determination: Challenges and Opportunities

Cryo-EM has entered a new era over the past several years, but there are many challenges that remain to be solved. A major goal of this National Resource for Automated Molecular Microscopy (NRAMM) workshop will be to discuss challenges in the field as well as opportunities to address these challenges and move the field forward. Topics to be discussed will include specimen preparation, imaging, instrumentation, processing and reconstruction, and methods for validation. Evenings will be reserved for research talks and poster presentations by participants. Keynote speakers include: John Briggs (EMBL), Anchi Cheng (NYSBC), Yifan Cheng (UCSF), Wah Chiu (Baylor), Rado Danev (MPI), Joachim Frank (Columbia), Bob Glaeser (LBL), Steve Ludtke (Baylor), Chris Russo (MRC),John Rubinstein (Toronto), Sjors Scheres (MRC), Henning Stahlberg (U. Basel), Elizabeth Villa (UCSD), and Tom Walz (Rockefeller).

Gatan is a sponsor and exhibitor of this special NRAMM event. We will have our R&D team at the workshop to discuss current Cryo-EM applications and present our latest direct detection imaging system (K3™ camera and Latitude® S software) optimized for the most demanding low-dose applications in both life science and materials science research.
