Description: With the passing of film use in Electron Microscopy to the new technology CCD cameras now available, more users are asking questions about how to match a system to their application and more importantly, exactly what is involved when switching to the digital world for EM.  This Webinar will explore topics ranging from:

• Why convert from film to digital imaging?

• Is there a difference in costs between film and digital?

• Can I give up my darkroom for hardware and software versatility?

• Choosing the right CCD camera system for the application (Biological Applications)

• Movie creation capabilities with fast cameras

• What is different about imaging with a CCD camera?

During the Webinar, we will discuss some of the basics in digital imaging, CCD technology and  point out how to recognize and avoid possible pitfalls in chosing a camera system. Examples of how Gatan can offer products matched to your application will also be shown.  Familiarity with TEM microscope operation and DigitalMicrograph are suggested but not required. There will be a short question and answer period following the webinar.
