Automated multi-specimen loading for the TEM

A prototype automated multi-specimen (up to 100 grids) loading system has recently been installed at the Laboratory of Biochemistry, NCI, part of NIH, USA. Dr. Sriram Subramanium and his colleagues will now assess the technology and further develop image and data acquisition from the TEM with the goal of fully automated specimen screening. Interest in fast, automated TEM specimen throughput has been expressed by many of our customers, in biomedical and materials science fields and this prototype is a true milestone for Gatan.For more information, click here.
