Photographic-Quality Imaging with
DigitalMontage
DigitalMontage allows the user to produce a composite
image (montage) from adjacent images acquired with
the Gatan Erlangshen, MultiScan or UltraScan CCD cameras. This
package supports automated acquisition and compilation
of multiple, full-sized CCD images with pixel-to-pixel
alignment to produce a final "super-size" image. The
intensities of the sub-images are automatically adjusted
to form a uniform, seamless final image. The software
is written as a standard plug-in for DigitalMicrograph
3.1 or later and runs on PC Systems. The software
will provide users with a powerful tool to obtain
mega-pixel digital images with high resolution and
a large field-of-view.
DigitalMontage requires an active working RS-232 interface available on the TEM. Please consult your TEM manufacturer for availability.
Setup. Allows users to specify various
montage geometry parameters such as:
Number of images in the x direction *
Number of images in the y direction *
Position of current image in the montage
Percentage overlap between images
Exposure time and binning factor.
*Limited by the amount of RAM and the maximum image
shift available at low magnification.
Calibration. Microscope image shift at a given
magnification is automatically calibrated with the
use of Gatan EM control software.
Image shift matrix (e.g., 2 x 2)
Montage. Allows users to automatically acquire
a number of images as customized in Setup, align these
images, and display the final montage image.
Automatic pixel-to-pixel image alignment.
Automatic fitting of montage to full display on the
monitor.
Automatic intensity balancing of each image to produce
a uniform, seamless montage.
Due to continuing improvements, specifications are
subject to change without notice.
