Pointers on Tomography Holders
To accommodate the full range of tomography applications, Gatan has produced a complete portfolio of tomography holders. All maximize the visible area at the highest possible tilts. The range includes single axis, dual axis, cryo-transfer and narrow gap pole piece versions. Weight and off axis mass is kept to a minimum to optimize goniometer performance. Here are a few pointers to obtain the best results from your tomography acquisition. Pointer 1: Take images with a smaller angle between them at higher tilts. This makes tracking easier where the specimen is moving furthest. Pointer 2: Take a low magnification locating image for each axis before acquiring a dual axis tomogram. This will make locating the same area or particle much easier once the specimen is rotated.
