Gatan Warrendale Factory Expansion

Gatan is currently expanding its factory in Warrendale, PA, taking the total occupied square footage from 28,483 on two floors to 42,700 on one floor. The expansion will improve efficiency in the assembly of the complex instruments manufactured by Gatan.

The factory expansion will streamline all aspects of our production. Having all or our operations including machining, assembly and testing on one floor minimizes the delays caused by transporting fully asembled items throughout the building, thereby minimizing delays to the customer.

The new environment is also a major improvement for our administrative and support personnel. The service group will now be located right next to the TEMs they use for testing repaired instruments. The expansion will also provide additional working space for employees and will enhance the production flow by putting all operations on one floor.
