UltraScan®10000XP

Model 990 TEM CCD Camera

The new UltraScan®10000XP, 10k x 10k very large format CCD camera is the newest member of Gatan’s family of high performance UltraScan CCD cameras.  Using the world’s largest CCD ever manufactured, it opens up extraordinary possibilities for applications such as cryo-biology and neuroscience which require the rapid acquisition of very large, high-resolution data sets.

The US10000XP uses Gatan’s next-generation high-contrast resolution (HCR+®) fiber optic technology and newly developed scintillator technology to deliver the highest resolution large format camera available.

The 10,560 x 10,560 pixel (111 Mpixel) CCD is read out over 16 ports using Gatan’s patented Multi-Scan® technology which along with true pixel-by-pixel correlated double sampling provides very low noise even at high read out speeds.

A 10 MHz readout mode offers sub-one-second low-noise full-frame readout and fast live preview modes.  A 1 MHz readout mode allows ultra-low read noise for the lowest dose applications.  Flexible 2 to 20x binning allows readout over a range of image resolutions offering effective pixel size/resolution combinations of 18µm / 5k x 5k to 180µm / 528 x 528 and extreme low-dose previewing at 10 frames per second.

The US10000XP is controlled by the leading and proven Gatan Microscopy Suite (GMS) software which includes the DigitalMicrograph software.
