TAC100/200 Series Anti-Contaminators

The TAC100/200 Series Anti-Contaminators are designed to provide efficient cooling within the TEM to minimize contamination in the vicinity of the specimen .

Key Features

Cryo protection 

• TAC100 models feature a detachable liquid nitrogen dewar with temperature sensor and provide efficient cooling to minimize condensation of column contaminants onto the surface of the specimen.
• TAC200 features liquid helium cooling for ultra low temperature applications.

Versatile configuration

• Specific models for 120 kV, 200 kV and 300 kV TEMs.
• Anti-contaminator blades can be made from beryllium for analytical applications. 
• Anti-contaminator blades can be configured as single or double or tubular.
• Specific models for 120 kV, 200 kV and 300 kV TEMs

Precise temperature measurement

• An optional battery powered temperature monitor allows continuous display of the blade temperature.

A TEM service engineer must be present at the time of installation of a TAC100 Series Liquid Nitrogen Anti-contaminator. It may be necessary to open the TEM column and, in some cases, the standard TEM anti-contaminator may need to be modified. Use of the twin blade or cylindrical anti-contaminator design is dependent upon the TEM manufacturer, model, pole piece gap, and the presence of in-gap accessories.
