The “spike” protein is the key target for vaccine and drug development efforts. "The K3 camera not only gave us great images…, it also prevented data collection from becoming a bottleneck, ultimately letting our team concentrate on getting the structure as quickly as possible” – UT Austin Lead Scientist

Differential phase contrast (DPC) maps were calculated from a 4D STEM dataset acquired at atomic resolution from a pyrochlore oxide specimen using the GIF Continuum™ K3® equipped with STEMx and the in-situ option. This energy-filtered 4D dataset included approximately 12,100 diffraction patterns and was collected in electron counting mode in <20 seconds.

Fast imaging enables live drift correction

Fast Imaging Enables Live Drift Correction
With optional GPU, the K3 IS can automatically drift-correct single images during acquisition. An advanced algorithm handles low-signal, short-exposure frames from high-speed acquisition. The final image is a sum of the aligned frames.

Artifact-free diffraction rings

Artifact-free diffraction rings
The Rio camera offers diffraction rings free from artifacts associated with CCD or other CMOS artifacts. Due to low noise floor, diffraction rings not usually visible in Au sample can be seen without artifacts from the central spot.

Choose the right FOV for your application

Choose the right FOV for your application
The Rio camera offers three cameras with both side and bottom mount. This allows you to pick the exact FOV that you need for your experiments.

Capture high-resolution detail with the largest FOV

Capture high-resolution detail with the largest FOV
There is no need to go to high magnification to resolve fine features. The Rio camera offers low noise with a high dynamic range.
