CF302 Continuous Flow Helium Stage
Cooling stages
There are many benefits of specimen cooling in the SEM:
SEM Cold stages and modules- applications
Temperature dependent studies esp. of electrical/electronic materials
e.g. insulators, semiconductors and superconductors.
Enhanced imaging and spectroscopy, esp. for cathodoluminescence (CL).
Cryogenic temperatures allow radiative recombination to dominate over non-radiative
processes, leading to large increases in light output, spectral lines becoming
sharper and electro-optical transitions being revealed.
CF302 continuous flow liquid Helium stage
For temperatures between 6K and 300K. It includes a replacement
SEM stage and door assembly with X,Y,Z axis manual micrometers. The CF302 design
ensures low drift and vibration whilst minimizing liquid helium consumption.

airlock loading system. For controllable specimen temperatures between
6 and 300K.
CF302M is a helium cooled stage module, (8K to 300K), suitable for some
SEMs. As the CF302M is a module, attachment and removal to revert back
to using standard specimens on the SEM goniometer requires more care than
the CF302. The CF302M may only be appropriate for some microscopes.

CF302M module for attaching to SEM stage, provides a controllable specimen
temperature range from 8 to 300K.
Both the CF 302 and the CF302M systems are supplied complete with heater,
temperature sensor, flexible transfer tube storage vessel top fitting with
bladder and valve, gas flow controller, gas flow pump, digital temperature
controller. A radiation shield can be included depending on the intended
use and configuration.

New Dual Fuel Option
In certain territories getting liquid helium can be expensive and problematic,
especially some hot climates where the dewar can be less than full on delivery.
Hence the "dual fuel" system has been developed as an option which
allows liquid helium cold stages to be operated with either cryogen, thus making
the product much more versatile. Liquid nitrogen cannot be used in the flow
configuration as boiling causes severe vibration to images. The DF option is
available as new, or as an add-on to existing systems and functions by forcing
cold nitrogen gas through the circuit in the same manner as the successful C1002
and Alto product range.
