PanaCL is a high collection efficiency CL imaging system, fitted with retractable
mirror. Detector options are available, also options for a short working distance
mirror, and a 'multi-signal mirror' to allow simultaneous operation with other
SEM detectors (depending on configuration). There are 2 basic systems:
PanaCL
Includes:
Collector with x-y-z- adjustment and mirror retraction mechanism
Photomultiplier tube in housing (185 nm to 850 nm)
Power supply
1-channel pre-amplifier and imaging amplifier
PanaCLF
CL imaging system with optical filter holder, includes:
Collector with x-y-z- adjustment and mirror retraction mechanism, photomultiplier
tube in housing (185 nm to 850 nm)
4 position mount to accept 3 standard 25 mm diameter filters plus 'straight
through' position
1-channel pre-amplifier and imaging amplifier
Filter sets (either RGB or bandpass) are available as options for PanaCLF.
Alternative photomultiplier detectors are available, 'high sensitivity' detectors
with Peltier cooling (requires cooling water supply ) also 'wide range' IR-sensitive
detectors which require liquid nitrogen cooling. An optical switch can be provided
if 2 optical outputs are required.
IRPCL
Provides single additional LN2 cooled IR diode with optical switch to extend
imaging capability into infra-red. Range of diode detectors with long wavelength
cut-off wavelengths extending from 1.7 to 2.3microns.
Includes PA10IR amplifier for diode imaging control

Desktop PA10 Photo Amplifier
Important: SEM to be fitted with Auxilliary
imaging signal input.
PanaCL is manufactured for a port giving horizontal access to the SEM or microprobe.
The imaging signal is an analogue voltage which requires a free scan synchronous
auxiliary analogue input on the microscope or beam control frame store. The
imaging performance is therefore dependent on the flexibility of the scan generator
and frame store. For low luminescent specimens, slow scanning and frame integration
may be required. For best result Gatan’s DigiScan II digital beam control
system is recommended.
