17th K. H. Kuo Summer School of Electron Microscopy

The K.H. Kuo Cryo-EM Summer School and International Symposium is a premier biennial event established in 2008 to honor the legacy of renowned Chinese electron microscopist K.H. Kuo. Over the years, it has become an important global forum for training and collaboration, providing early-career researchers with unique opportunities to learn from leading experts, exchange ideas, and explore the latest advances in cryo-electron microscopy.

The 2026 event will be hosted by the Cryo-EM Subsociety of the Biophysical Society of China and organized by Peking University. The Summer School and Symposium will take place from August 19 to 25, 2026, at Huairou Science City in Beijing, China.

Bringing together internationally recognized scientists and technology innovators, the symposium will showcase the latest developments in cryo-EM instrumentation, methodologies, and applications. Key topics will include high-resolution structural determination of complex biological systems, advances in in situ structural biology, and emerging techniques that continue to expand the impact of cryo-EM across the life sciences. Through scientific exchange, education, and collaboration, the event will help drive the next generation of discoveries in structural biology.
