Gatan, Inc. is the world's leading manufacturer of instrumentation and software used to enhance and extend the operation and performance of electron microscopes. Gatan's products, which are fully compatible with all brands of electron microscopes, cover the entire range of the analytical process from specimen preparation and manipulation to imaging and analysis.
All of Gatan's software products form part of the Gatan Microscopy Suite (GMS). When you purchase a piece of hardware or software you will usually get a license to a subset of the GMS. This may be as simple as the core DigitalMicrograph™ application and software to drive a digital camera, or it may include many other components. In any case you can be assured that the GMS components you purchase will all work seamlessly together.
Version 2 of the GMS is now available. This version is completely compatible with Windows 7 and is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. With the almost unlimited memory accessible in the 64-bit version, very large data sets can now be acquired in Tomography, Spectrum Imaging and Diffraction Imaging, giving you more freedom to explore and enhancing your research capabilities.

Computer Recommendations:
The computer and graphics card specifications listed below are for GMS version 2.x software or newer. GMS version 1.x software will not run properly in the Windows 7 operating system, and associated legacy hardware devices may not be compatible or supported in the referenced configurations. Please contact Gatan for any compatibility questions related to your specific microscopy application and hardware control needs, especially if you are considering a computer purchase on your own and legacy devices are involved.
